Two months ago she was Rosanne now she is Mary Chan.. God knows where she has developed this fancy of calling herself with new names.
We will soon will be shifting to a new town for this we had to go through the admission procedure and there when the principal asked for her name... Prompt came out....

Left and right

Tia is now a big girl and so has her logic too passed on from the days of "aloo sleeping" to a little critical yet still confusing ways.
She writes with her left hand and often confuses left with right. and each time she does that i invariably correct her. my continuous correction leaves her a little irritated. on one such occasion, she retorted, "it is my hand and so is my wish, i choose to call left hand right and my my right hand left "
God... any answer to that!

Daya SIr

With time children develop their own skills too... skills... yes plenty of them.... wish I could name a few...
the other day while getting her back from school, her classmate's dadi, (who stay in our society too) said, "Tia ko to bhai, Saksham bahut pyaar karta hai" (Saksham is her classmate)... Before I could react, prompt came her answer... "Lekin mein Saksham se pyaar nahin karti, mein to Daya Sir se pyaar karti hu" (Daya Sir is a character in the serial CID) Gosh!!! I was dumb.

At times Tia can be very irritating… and often I too lose my temper… But at what cost?, I end up upsetting myself, so I self imposed this formula… I started keeping numb… The other day I told her, please do not call me “Ma” stop calling me that, I am not your Ma. What a big statement I thought for myself… But do you think that it would bother her…? Her very next statement was… Sushma O’ Sushma… listen.

I rushed to the loo to meet nature’s call, but to my surprise what I see is a big orange floating in the commode. Who else could it be….Tia, I screamed… what is this ?… I rushed to the other toilet. Then after I was relieved of my pressure I resumed the conversation. Why on earth did you hurl the orange there? Its gone bad she replied, ‘now it is not there’ what! Is what I exclaimed. In the meantime she had flushed the orange.

A Difficult Game

Tia was trying to please her little brother and was playing around him. I was no doubt scared and careful too. She was hurling the baby’s blanket in the air which was a pleasant sight for Adi. He was giggling all the while….then within a fraction of a second, the blanket fell right on Adi’s face, and he started to gasp.
I had to take charge of the situation…I told Tia “Tia! he is so little and you got to be careful all the time…you see baby..” then pat came her reply “Mama, bhai said, ‘Tia didi kambal di diya mur uproot (Tia didi place the blanket on me)’ so I did it for him…Okay. A three month old and speaking!!! I was speechless

Language No Bar

Tia and her little brother were in bed. Both were happy with each other. Adi was busy with his baby language and Tia busy deciphering. A piece of what I heard….

Adi: Gaga… googooo….gaga
Tia: ki koisa (what are you saying?) O story!
Adi: Goooo...goooo….gaga….
Tia: Ok once upon a time… Etu koisa (You are saying this)
Adi: Goooo...goooo….gaga….ga...
Tia: Eta princess asile, etu koisa (there was a princes, you mean this)
Adi: Goooo..goooo….gaga….
Tia: Ok Ok

And their conversation continued.....
